Emmaus Suffolk Eco Market at Felixstowe.

eco market

Our exciting new Eco Market started in March and is going from strength to strength.

Whether or not you believe in global warming it is hard to dispute that we are a wasteful society. The emphasis for the last few years has been on recycling but what if there is a better way? Use less in the first place and re-use what you have. Here at Emmaus Suffolk we already promote this ethos in as many ways as we can.

Now, to promote the cause further we are holding a monthly Eco Market for independent local traders who share the same values at our Great Eastern Square premises in Felixstowe. Our first market took place on Saturday 23rd March and was hugely successful.  Traders offer eco-friendly, upcycled or ethically produced products from refillable dry foods to personal care, clothing and even jewellery. You can bag yourself a bamboo toothbrush and beeswax wraps while recycled silver jewellery or some incredible handmade soaps make great gifts.

As the market is based outside our Felixstowe shop customers were also able to stock up on our range of vegan refillable household products including the ever popular ginger washing up liquid and lavender and rosemary surface cleaner.  And of course as always our Felixstowe shop has a range of recycled furniture paint for your upcycling projects as well as all the amazing furniture upcycled by our volunteers. Our workshop volunteers love bringing new life to tired furniture and saving it from landfill.

Add these dates to your diary: 11am - 3pm.

Next Market is on the 27th April, then every last Saturday of the month - 25th May, 22nd June, 27th July, 24th August, 28th September, 26th October, 23rd November and 21st December.
