Lucie’s Pantry is our social supermarket located at the Old Post Office on Dean Road in South Shields.
It provides a sustainable and affordable source of food and household essentials to members of the local community struggling to make ends meet through debt, illness or low income. With the generous help from members of the community we’re providing great food and resources for great people and having a positive effect on the environment by reducing food waste through the redistribution of food surplus.
Opening hours and times
Lucie’s Pantry will be open 9am – 5pm every Tuesday from 23 July 2019.
Where can I find you?
Lucie’s Pantry is located at the Old Post Office, 430 Dean Road, South Shields, NE33 5LL.
How does it work?
People who want to use the social supermarket become a member of Lucie’s Pantry. Members pay £2.50 per week and can choose items to the value of approximately £15 each week.
Membership is limited by need and geographical distance to the outlet.
By becoming a member of Lucie’s Pantry, individuals help to support others in their community. The more members who use the social supermarket, the more quality items we can source, allowing even more people to benefit.
