We are a small community with a home for up to 23 companions, so while there may be times when we are looking for specific skills, it’s really important that everyone who joins is willing to turn a hand to whatever is needed.

We are a community that lives alongside the Anglican Community of All Hallows, as such we live quietly and peacefully in what is for us a rural idyll.

Joining our community offers many advantages.  Companions receive accommodation, food, clothing and a small weekly allowance, but for many, the greatest benefit is a fresh start. To join a community, individuals sign off unemployment benefits and agree to participate in the life and work of the community and abide by its rules, for example not bringing drugs or alcohol into the community.

Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney offers a place for you as long as you are happy to comply with the basic ground rules of the community. For some people this may be a matter of weeks or months, but for others this may be for longer or even for life.

If you’ve reviewed the website and think you would like to join the community, here's what to do next.

  • read the Companion’s Companion
  • complete a referral form and send it back to us
  • call us; if we have a space we will invite you for lunch

We think it’s really important you take a proper look at the community before committing to stay. We want to know that you are up for the job and understand our ethos.
