Run of success - Emmaus London Marathon team smash fundraising target

Marathon 420 x 235

Emmaus running team Guy Bennett, Terry Elford, Chris Owens, Jemma Pursell and Angus Thomson completed the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday (22 April), raising over £10,400 for homelessness charity Emmaus UK.

Speaking at the finish line, Terry said:

The day has been amazing! The support from the public, family, friends and Emmaus staff has been incredible. I'm pleased to say that I've now exceeded my target and have raised over £2,300 for Emmaus.

This fantastic charity is different to other homelessness charities – it doesn’t simply offer one night’s reprieve, but a long term solution to those needing to rebuild their lives. I’m so pleased that I’ve been able to help in this way."

Sophie Bruce, Fundraising Officer at Emmaus UK added:

We’re so proud of the Emmaus team. Their commitment in training and their fundraising efforts will help to increase accommodation, training and well-being support for companions (former homeless people). Thanks again Guy, Terry, Chris, Jemma and Angus – you’ll make a real difference to so many individuals.”
