Yesterday Emmaus companion, Menir Osman was one of the companions taking part in a theatrical re-staging of Cathy Come Home, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the seminal film at the Barbican theatre, on Tuesday 5 July.

50 years on from Ken Loach’s ground-breaking film, Cardboard Citizens' Community Ensemble occupies the Barbican stage to revive the story of Cathy Come Home with its unique theatrical flair.

The one-off performance, was followed by a panel discussion led by the BBC’s Samira Ahmed focused on ‘Homelessness 50 years on – what's changed?’

The panel discussion involved Campbell Robb (CEO Shelter), Adrian Jackson (CEO/Founder Cardboard Citizens), Eska (Mercury-prize nominated singer) and James Murray (Deputy Mayor for Housing).
