Local homelessness charity Emmaus Harpenden, a part of Emmaus St Albans, is hosting a charity auction of vintage and antique collectables with well known auctioneer and Mayor of Tring Stephen Hearn.

On Saturday 14 November, Stephen Hearn, who has been a part of Antiques Roadshow and Bargain Hunt, will auction off forty valuable items, which were kindly donated to the charity. A 20% discount and mocktails will also be available to customers upon arrival.

Tony Ferrier, CEO of Emmaus St Albans, said:

This fantastic event is to celebrate the reopening of our Harpenden shop, having previously been located in Batford for six years. Since moving in to the new shop in Harpenden eight months ago we have generated £83,900 of income, from the many donations of furniture and household goods we receive. This contributes to funding the cost of running the community, and helps in our continued support of companions (formerly homeless people) who live and work in the community.”

The 20% discount will be available to customers throughout the day on all non-auction items upon presentation of an invite, which is available to pick up free. Viewing of auction items will be from 9.30AM to 10.30AM, with the auction taking place from 11AM to 1PM.

The event will take place at Emmaus Harpenden, located at 44-46 Coldharbour Lane, Harpenden, AL5 4UN, which is open throughout the day from 9.30AM to 4.30PM.
