Supporters doff their hats to Emmaus Mossley
Earlier this month, customers and friends of Emmaus Mossley joined companions, staff and volunteers for the ‘Hats Off to Emmaus’ evening event.
The event celebrated all things Emmaus Mossley and took place at the second hand superstore on Queen Street in Mossley. The evening event included a sale, auction and raffle of interesting and unique donations, which are usually saved for display and hire ahead of sale.
Items on display and for sale included vintage furniture, clothes, collectables, musical instruments, tools, home furnishings and lots of hats. One of the items auctioned off on the night, a vintage Singer Sewing Chair, raised an impressive £200 for the charity.
Dennis Morton, a companion at Emmaus Mossley who helped to organise the event, said:
“The event was fantastic – everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and I’ve had a lot of people asking when the next one will be. The atmosphere was buzzing and it was great to be part of it.”
Ali Hill, Director at Emmaus Mossley, said:
“The event was a great success and we would like to thank everyone who came along on the night to support Emmaus Mossley. A lot of work went into the planning and preparation of the Hats Off event but we are delighted with how it went. We still have a number of displays up in the shop and hope to run another evening event sometime in the autumn.”
