Plucky school girl rides for Emmaus
A schoolgirl from Ipswich will take on a five mile charity cycling event, just two months after learning to ride.
Jorgia Staddon, 8, will tackle the Ipswich East Rotary Club Orwell Ride on Sunday 29 June with mum Claire, raising funds for Emmaus Ipswich. The route is mostly off-road, making the challenge for new rider Jorgia even more exciting.
In Ipswich, the group headed up by project manager Claire Staddon is currently fundraising to set up a social enterprise, which will in turn lead to a community.
Jorgia said: “I have such fun at home, it’s the best place to be. When I think about what it would be like for someone to be without a home it makes me very sad. Mum is helping this charity, and I really want to help my mum.”
Claire commented: “I am really proud of Jorgia and the way she has taken this fundraiser to heart. Anyone that would like to support her towards making her target of £100 for Emmaus Ipswich, can donate at http://www.totalgiving.co.uk/mypage/Jorgiasride.”
