Get ready for Mossley Light Festival

Lanterns at Mossley Light Festival

Mossley Light Festival is taking place on Saturday 25 November and this year the parade will begin at Emmaus Mossley.

Emmaus Mossley is proud to be supporting the 2017 festival. We’ve already hosted two lantern making workshops and on the day these community-made lanterns will join the procession that will start at Longlands Mill and work their way up to top Mossley. A number of companions have also volunteered to support the festival as stewards.

This year's Mossley Light Festival will be even bigger, brighter and bolder than ever with something for everyone to enjoy. The theme of this year’s event is ‘A Tale of Two Giants’ – telling the story of the colossal Alphin and Alder and how they fought for the love of beautiful water nymph Rimmon.

In order to get everything ready for the parade, Emmaus Mossley will close early at 4pm on Saturday 25 November. We kindly ask that all cars are out of the carpark by 4pm prompt as festival participants will be arriving for their registration.

The Mossley Light Festival parade is due to start at around 5pm, working its way up Queen Street, Manchester Road and Stamford Road. Whatever the weather, we encourage you to see the fantastic parade and get involved in Mossley’s biggest free festive event.
