Steve's big 2019 cycle challenge
Next year, Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland companion Steve will cycle from London to Brighton - to raise funds for us.
On 15 September 2019, Steve Grinstead will be cycling to fundraise for Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland, a charity that's close to his heart as we've supported him by providing a home and meaningful work in a community setting:
Before I found Emmaus, I was homeless for 18 years, living from day to day and not knowing when or if it would ever end. It was a very scary experience. In 2019, I’ll be raising funds for the charity that saved my life."
Steve is no stranger to fundraising, having undertaken several long-distance sponsored walks over the years - for Emmaus and other charities. This time he's changing his mode of transport from foot to pedal-power.
Until recently, I hadn't been on a bike since I was a child, but it's amazing how quickly it all comes back to you. I've invested in a specialist bike for long-distance rides. Over the winter months though, I'll start my training on an indoor exercise bike."
As Steve begins his training, his sponsorship page is now live online. If you'd like to support him, please click here to visit his Virgin Moneygiving page,
Thank you - and good luck with the training Steve!
