Are you interested in becoming a Trustee?
Established in 2001, Emmaus Village Carlton provides accommodation, work, training and support for up to 35 formerly homeless people (companions) at Carlton in North Bedfordshire.
It is a unique and highly successful example of a social enterprise in which companions work alongside staff and volunteers in recycling, our Home Store and Bistro.
Our turnover is around £1m per annum, from our inception we have invested heavily in refurbishing our buildings based on a successful fundraising strategy and we have ambitious plans for the future.
We are currently seeking to fill two vacancies on our Board of Trustees, we are looking for applicants with skills and experience in marketing/public relations and in working with vulnerable people, however applications from people with general senior management experience are also welcome.
Above all, applicants must be willing to work as part of a team, share our vision and objectives and demonstrate practical common-sense. The board meets six times per year, although trustees are encouraged to take as active a role in the life of the community as they can.
If this is something you are interested in please contact Steve Arnold, Chair of Trustees at Emmaus Village Carlton.
We look forward to hearing from you.
