Tuesday

Five miles easy pace using grass verges. Running on verges is not as easy as you might think. It’s a full body workout, it will help your muscles get used to being on unstable surfaces and improve your balance, stability and efficiency of running.

Thursday

Seven miles – four miles cross country using a head torch and three miles road running.

Yes, you read the above right, cross country using a head torch.  Forget time for this, it’s a real adventure. Just plodding along watching where you put your feet. I found this was a true sensory overload, definitely mind over matter.

Sunday

27 minutes easy run and five minutes walk for a total of 150 minutes.

More running on footpaths along The Gloucestershire Way.  The sun was shining and it was pleasantly warm, what a joy.  A true pleasure to be out in bright daylight after the dark dreary days of winter.

P.S. Next Sunday, 29 March, I plan to run the Forest of Dean Half Marathon.  So watch this space.
