Emmaus Dover receive Perry’s Exceptional Charity 2018 award
Emmaus Dover were the worthy winners of the Perry’s Exceptional Charity 2018 award at the celebratory event created by Perrys Chartered Accountants.
Emmaus Dover were celebrated along with some of Kent’s most inspiring individuals, charities and businesses at the event, which took place at Leeds Castle in Maidstone. Finalists had their achievements showcased in specially-commissioned videos and winners were awarded an engraved trophy.
Lawrence O’Sullivan, a companion from Emmaus Dover, said on the night:
"I was gobsmacked. It was an absolute surprise to win. We were up against some very wonderful organisations so it is a great achievement for us. This award will really help us to improve what we are trying to do and get the message out there a bit more and help us in every possible way – particularly with raising funds for our new shop. It has been a wonderful experience, thank you”
Debbie Stevenson, Community Manager said, "We’re so pleased to be given this amazing award and recognition for our work supporting 27 formerly homeless people on their journey. Emmaus Dover is an integral part of the local community and we are really proud of what we have achieved so far.”
