A Christian community from Nonington recently held a barbeque for our staff and companions.
Adults and children from the Beech Grove Bruderhof community came over to our Archcliffe Fort accommodation in Dover, bringing delicious burgers from their own livestock, freshly baked rolls and homemade apple pie with ice cream.
We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in this good deed - we all had a lovely time.
The children brought games and played on a trampoline (which we then gifted to them), and sang around a firepit as we toasted marshmellows. It was a great evening and much enjoyed by all.
Last year, the Bruderhof community held a special fundraising concert for Emmaus Dover. Entertainment included choral pieces, a poetry recital and dancing by children from the community; the event raised over £1,800.
We're planning on paying them a visit ourselves soon - to play softball together!
