Fire safety support

fire2

We’d like to thank local business JCH Safety Ltd, who recently provided us with a free fire risk assessment. The company, based in Nuneaton, specialise in all areas of health and safety, as well as fire prevention services.

We initially contacted JCH Safety to make sure that our accommodationJCH logo building – the Old Vicarage in Binley – was fully in line with fire safety regulations.

I have long been aware of the work that Emmaus do in the Coventry area and wanted to take the opportunity to help them to improve fire safety compliance. Emmaus work hard to help people on the streets to rebuild their lives. It is becoming increasingly more noticeable how many people are sleeping rough in the UK. The work Emmaus does to help these people is amazing and we wanted to do a little bit to help them with their mission. Fire is such a risk to lives and it is great that Emmaus is committed to offering good quality, safe accommodation to people who need it most."

Jonathan Hegarty, Managing Director of JCH Safety

A fire risk assessment identifies ways of reducing the likelihood of a fire breaking out by offering advice on various issues such as how to managing electrical and gas safety, the storage of combustible items and the provision of fire awareness training. Such assessments also look at the building condition, such as the standard of doors, smoke detection, smoking arrangements, fire extinguisher provision and emergency evacuation procedures.

JCH Safety will be continuing their support in future, extending their advice to cover our shop premises too.
