An enthusiastic team from Attwells Solicitors have raised £350 for Emmaus Colchester. Seven members of the team donned their running trainers for the Colchester Half Marathon on Sunday 24 March.

The fastest time was set by Solicitor, Matthew Desborough, completing the race in 1 hr 58 minutes, with Managing Partner, Nick Attwell (pictured above) and Head of Suffolk Conveyancing, Stuart Milbourne, coming in joint second with 2 hrs 5 mins.

Nick Attwell, Managing Partner of Attwells Solicitors, explains why they chose to raise money for Emmaus Colchester:

We undertake legal work for individuals and businesses moving home. These are the lucky ones. Emmaus looks after those who do not have a home and provides them with meaningful work. We are proud to have been able to run the Colchester Marathon for them and have raised some funds to support their great work.”

Attwells also provides Emmaus Colchester with pro bono legal advice to resolve any legal issues it may face, allowing its funds to be retained to make a difference to its companions.

Denise King, Chief Executive Officer of Emmaus Colchester says:

We value the legal support that Attwells already provides us with and are extremely grateful for the additional help they have given us through running the Colchester Half Marathon, which will benefit the Emmaus community in Colchester.”
