Emmaus Cambridge appeals for essential winter items for rough sleepers
Emmaus Cambridge is accepting donations of essential winter items to distribute to local services who work in direct contact of rough sleepers in the Cambridgeshire area.
In a bid to support local services, Emmaus Cambridge would like to encourage the public to donate sleeping bags, winter coats, and warm boots to its shop in Green End, Landbeach.
Plummeting temperatures bring increased risk of and health issues to rough sleepers. According to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, at least 78 homeless people died on the streets or in temporary accommodation last winter, with many being found dead in doorways, crowded shelters or in tents pitched in freezing conditions.
Donated items can be dropped off at the Emmaus Cambridge shop at Green End, Landbeach, CB25 9FD.
