Emmaus Cambridge takes on 220ft abseil challenge for Emmaus UK
Four people at Emmaus Cambridge completed a 220ft abseil challenge on Friday 7 September 2018 to help raise money to build new rooms in Emmaus communities across the UK.
Emmaus Cambridge companion Séamus Fox, Companion Development Worker Austin Whiteside, Administrative Assistant Tara Constable, and Emmaus Cambridge trustee John Murphy, joined over 30 people to take on the #DropFromTheTop abseil challenge, raising a combined total of £530.
The event, which was organised by Emmaus UK, saw Emmaus staff, companions and supporters from across the UK descend 220ft down the Holiday Inn Express in Birmingham city centre. The current fundraising total of over £8,000 will go towards building new rooms in Emmaus communities for people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.
A big congratulations to our four brave participants for taking on the challenge!
