Emmaus Cambridge Catering Assistant
Hours: part time 12/16 hours (flexible) per week working over Thursday, Friday and weekend work.
Salary: £8.50 per hour.
What a monthly rota would look like:
Emmaus Cambridge is a charity and social enterprise, part of which is our up and coming café. Emmaus provides a home for 34 formerly homeless people (companions) who are working their way out of homelessness in all areas of our business.
Joan’s Coffee shop is named after a long-serving Companion who started the business 15 years ago with just a kettle and a jar of coffee. Our coffee shop has grown so much and is now an extremely successful part of our organisations, which has achieved 5-star hygiene rating from South Cambridgeshire District Council.
We are looking for someone who has experience working in a successful and busy food service establishment, enjoys dealing with people, has excellent communication skills and be able to:
• Cook dishes to order
• Act on own initiative
• Work well in a team
• Have excellent organisation skills
• Be willing to turn a hand to whatever is required
• Keep cool in a crisis
• Have great attention to detail
• Support companions to get involved in the project.
The post holder will work closely with the Catering Supervisor and the staff team. If you are looking for a challenge in a busy environment, have an open mind, a sense of social justice, a can-do attitude and sense of humour, Emmaus Cambridge could be the place for you.
The post will be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring check for work with vulnerable adults.
Closing date for applications: Friday 29th June. With interview date to be confirmed. For an application pack or initial conversation, please ask for Wendy Martin or contact Wendy on 01223 863657 ext. 226 or e-mail Wendy.firstname.lastname@example.org
