Working together to end homelessness

We're a group of people working together to open the first Emmaus community in the city.

We currently have 2 charity shops selling good quality second hand clothing, bedding, books, DVD's, CD.s, toys, bric-a-brac and items of furniture.

Our first shop which opened October 2016 is on Idle Road, Bradford BD2 2AL.

We recently opened our second shop October 2017 in the old Plaza Cinema building on Cross Lane,  BD7 3JT, near the junction with Great Horton Road.

This is a much larger building with an indoor street effect offering separate 'shops' selling clothing, bric-a-brac, toys, books/CD's/DVD's/Vinyl Records and furniture.

The ultimate goal is to have our own Emmaus Community in Bradford offering accommodation and meaningful work for previously homeless people.  Both shops will provide a regular income towards that end.

Bradford has a significant number of rough-sleepers. Whilst there is some help for homeless people in the area, the Emmaus model goes further in the provision of long term help. It also fits well with our local authority’s approach to tackling the wider causes of homelessness.

If you think you could help us to get our community off the ground, please get in touch.  We are always looking for volunteers, trustees and donations of items to sell in our shops, or donations of money towards setting up of a community.

We have a big impact
