Jerry Hall opens bigger, better Bistro at Emmaus Village Carlton
Emmaus supporter Jerry Hall brought a touch of glamour to Emmaus Village Carlton in Bedfordshire when she opened their newly refurbished Bistro on 17th June. Seen below with Pete and Edith, Companions who live and work at Emmaus Village Carlton, Jerry cut the ribbon and declared the Bistro officially open.
After interviews with the local media, Jerry browsed in the shop, buying some willow pattern plates, and chatted to staff, Companions and volunteers.

She says, "Anyone could become homeless. Emmaus Communities provide a supportive, secure family environment and the people who live there help themselves and each other to create their own second chances.
Emmaus is a simple concept; taking unwanted goods and lives that have become difficult and finding a purpose for both, but its impact is phenomenal. I have seen at first hand the lasting difference it makes."

The Bistro at Emmaus Village Carlton is a popular destination, serving delicious meals and snacks in friendly, welcoming surroundings. After months of building work, it now has extra tables and new items on the menu. Customers can relax with their coffee in the new sofa area before browsing through books, bric a brac and furniture or looking for clothes and accessories in the Boutique.
A loyal Emmaus supporter, Jerry Hall has auctioned her dresses in support of Emmaus and helped launch 'Sharing in Success', an economic evaluation of Emmaus Village Carlton by Cambridge University.
