Shop and Stockroom Assistants
Purpose of Role: To assist in the day to day running of the charity shop
Hours: minimum 3½ hours per week
Responsible to the Community Leader
Tasks
• Sorting, cleaning and pricing goods donated to the shop
• Providing customers with information about ESL
• Arranging displays of goods within shop
• Rotating the stock within the shop
• Maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the shop
• Operating the till
• Packing goods for customers
Person Specification
Volunteers need to have:
• Ability to operate as a team member
• Flexible attitude to types of jobs required within the role
• Respect for the organisation’s policies
• A willingness to participate in relevant and appropriate training in order to carry out the duties required of the role
• A pleasant manner and the ability to deal with the public at a face-to-face level
• Reliability and dependability
• Ability to operate a till (training provided)
