Emmaus Norwich Board of Trustees
Brian Day, Chair
Brian has been Chair of the Emmaus Norwich Board of Trustees since March 2010. His support for projects that benefit homeless people range from outreach work for the YMCA to raising funds for Emmaus by running the London Marathon. Brian’s professional background is in computers and project management, with consultancies for the Home Office and for a major international financial planning company.
Hazel Ellard, Company Secretary
A member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Hazel has worked for a number of Local Authorities in housing development (delivering affordable housing) and in community development. She has wide professional and voluntary experience of working alongside community groups to develop business plans, manage grants programmes and organise local events.
Ian Hamilton
Ian has been an Emmaus supporter since working for the Cyrenians at their drop-in centre for homeless people in Cambridge in the early 1990s, when local people were working to establish the first UK Emmaus Community there. Ian retired in 2002 after a career as a primary school teacher and then as a psychiatric nurse.
Simon Ward
Simon Ward has been chaplain to the Bishop of Norwich since March 2009. His work as a priest in both urban and rural parishes has brought him into contact with people with many varied needs and concerns. His present role has enabled him to develop contacts with projects across the Norwich Diocese and beyond.
Sr Pamela CAH
Sr Pamela is a member of the Community of All Hallows based in Ditchingham, originally founded in the 1850s to support women in need. At the time that Sr Pamela joined the Community, it ran a home for disadvantaged teenage girls. In the 1980’s she managed a hostel in Norwich for women and children. Sr Pamela has an extensive ministry within the Norwich Diocese and is currently a trustee of three other organisations.
Andrew Yuill
A chartered accountant and chartered financial planner by training, Andrew worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers for nearly 20 years before joining a family group of companies at the start of 2009 where he works as group CFO. As well as his commitment to Emmaus Norwich, Andrew is treasurer for a local church, Trustee for another and a Trustee of Writers’ Centre Norwich, a literature development agency interested in both the artistic and social impact of creative writing.
