Companions pass electrical safety testing course
8 Companions from 5 different Emmaus Communities attended a training course at Emmaus St Albans, learning to test small electrical items before they are sold. Many Emmaus Communities sell donated electrical goods in their shops, tested to check that they work and are safe.
The day long course was challenging, including both written and practical elements, but all of the participating Companions from Communities in Leeds, St Albans, Greenwich, Gloucester and Bristol passed both practical and theory tests.
The course was organised by the Emmaus UK Training Officer who co-ordinates training for staff, volunteers and Companions (as those who live and work in Emmaus Communities are known) around the country.
