Brush up your act with Emmaus this spring
As a chill wind howls round your ankles, and snow settles on your shoulders, it might not feel like spring is just around the corner, but don’t let this stop you when it comes to a spot of clearing out or sprucing up.
Emmaus Village Carlton is offering six lucky folks the opportunity to take part in a ‘shabby chic workshop’ on Tuesday 26 February, learning how to renovate and revamp anything from chairs to coffee tables to chests of drawers.
Led by designer Eileen Clark, and using top-of-the-range designer paint produced by Annie Sloane, this whole-day masterclass on how to create a whole new look for your home costs just £99, including refreshments.
Companion Simon, whose creative talents are put to good use giving furniture donated to Emmaus Village Carlton a new lease of life, picked up a few tips from Eileen.
He said: “Sometimes a piece of furniture will come in that really speaks to me; for example I recently created a zebra print table, using a technique where I combined paint, charcoal and wax. I really enjoy repairing and refurbishing the things which might otherwise be overlooked.”
