Emmaus Hull: World Record holders

Emmaus Hull has officially set a World Record for playing Monopoly in a shop window.

Elaine Dobson, Andy Pickering and Mihai Pomana played consecutive games of Monopoly in Emmaus Hull's shop window for 24 hours, setting a World Record which was confirmed by Record Holders Republic. Other Emmaus Hull supporters did a street collection for the charity, raising £411. It was all a part of a Hull Christmas Lights switch-on event on 30th November.

Emmaus Hull project director Helen McGill said: "It's a fantastic achievement for the Emmaus Hull team and I'd like to thank all the volunteers who collected money on the day, those who adjudicated the event, made refreshments, served customers and no least the players themselves - a fantastic team effort!".

Dean Gould, President of Record Holders Republic said: "Congratulations to all. I'm pleased this added to a great event in Hull".

Hasbro allowed Emmaus Hull to use the intellectual property rights to the game free of charge.

Emmaus Hull is located at 193 Newland Avenue, Hull, HU5 2EN.
