Joanna Lumley and Alfie Boe show support for Emmaus
Actress Joanna Lumley and opera singer Alfie Boe are Emmaus' two most recent supporters.
Joanna Lumley, most famous for her role in Absolutely Fabulous, said:
"Many homeless people feel they have very little control over their lives and what happens to them. Emmaus hands back some of that control by giving people useful work and a safe place to call home".
Opera singer Alfie Boe, who has performed with the English National opera, said:
"Emmaus' recycling initiatives are admirable. Each Community has the potential for saving hundreds of tonnes of landfill each year. I urge you to donate household goods or buy refurbished furniture from their shops, because by doing so you are not only helping the environment, but you are helping establish new lives."
