Emmaus Companion Graham experiences life at the Federation Office
This week, Companion Graham from Emmaus South Lambeth is working in the Federation Office of Emmaus UK.
He is spending time in each area of the office, helping out and finding out how each area operates, and how the work of the Federation Office fits in with the workings of the wider Emmaus Federation.
This is the first time that an Emmaus Companion has spent a week in the Federation Office, and it is hoped it will be the start of a regular placement programme.
At one point he owned a large house in Marbella, but following the ending of a relationship, former butler Graham slept rough for three months on Hove seafront before gaining a place at Emmaus South Lambeth at the beginning of the summer.
He said: “I was surprised at just how much is involved in how the Federation Office works, and the commitment shown by everyone in it. It’s really helped me to understand the wider picture of Emmaus. I know that they are all here to help the Groups and Communities and no problem is too small”.
