The Duchess of Cornwall visits Emmaus Garden

The Duchess of Cornwall visited The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show to see the Emmaus Garden on the 8th of July.

Her Royal Highness met the garden designer Bill Butterworth who explained that he had been inspired by the early years of the Emmaus Movement and created a garden with olive trees and lavender to reflect a French orchard. He then went on to show Her Royal Highness ceramics, textiles and sculptures that had also been placed to reflect the Emmaus theme.

The Duchess of Cornwall who has been Patron of Emmaus UK since 2006 then went on to meet volunteers from The College of West Anglia and Emmaus Cambridge, the artist responsible for creating the textiles in the garden and Emmaus Companions Ian and Alan.

Ian who chatted with The Duchess of Cornwall for several minutes said;
"She was very pleased with the garden and said she would like it for herself. It means a lot to have her come down."
