Gardens bloom for charity

Emmaus has been chosen as one of three charities to benefit from the proceeds when 14 greenfingered residents of Histon and Impington open their gardens to the public on 14th June.

Judy Wilson, Chair of the Open Gardens Committee, said: "Having seen the work of Emmaus Cambridge, just up the road, we are keen to help more Emmaus Communities open across the UK." Six volunteers from the Emmaus UK office will join local people on the day, selling programmes and serving lunches and teas to visitors.

The gardens are open from 12noon - 6pm. Additional attractions are music, local history talks and a bookstall specialising in secondhand gardening books. Plants and cakes will be on sale from stalls on Histon village green on Saturday 13th June.

If you would like to visit a variety of beautiful gardens in a village setting and help raise funds for Emmaus, Histon Feast and VSO, come along on Sunday 14th June. Histon and Impington are just north of Cambridge on the B1049. The Citi7 bus from St Andrews Street in central Cambridge runs every half hour.
