"With Others": Emmaus in pictures and sound
Two young artists are launching an exhibition in London on 6th November to convey the Emmaus philosophy through photographs and sound.
Liz Hingley's photographs of Emmaus communities in England, Holland, Belgium, Germany, France, Bosnia and Italy have already been exhibited in Bristol, Cambridge and Winchester. Sound artist Sara Smith is currently producing a sound installation to complement the photographs.
The event will also feature clothes from Emmaus Communities in Paris and Helsinki, reworked by young English fashion designers, alongside Emmaus furniture from the Brighton & Hove and South Lambeth Communities. Creative workshops will be running during the event for youth groups, exploring the issues that Emmaus tackles.
Liz Hingley and Sara Smith established the "With Others" project and are working voluntarily with the encouragement of Emmaus UK, Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International.
