Cambridge University research shows economic effectiveness of Emmaus model

Research by Cambridge University has demonstrated that Emmaus Communities can have a significant benefit for the local economy.

The team, led by Christine Whitehead, Professor of Housing Economics at LSE and Director of the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research, carried out their research at Emmaus Village Carlton.

In their conclusion, they found that the Community saved the public purse over £800,000 a year.

This research follows a previous economic evaluation of Emmaus Cambridge in 2004.
