The causes of homelessness
The residents of our 20 Communities are the source of the best and most revealing testimonies. It is from them that we learn about the reasons why people become homeless in the first place, what it feels like to sleep rough or live in hostels and other temporary accommodation and what helps people who have lost everything to escape the cycle of deprivation and isolation.
The benefits of working for yourself and others, the formation of a replicable and unique business-led charity.
Thousands of tonnes are diverted from landfill each year by the recycling activities of Emmaus Communities. Buying second hand avoids the toxic manufacturing processes involved in making new furniture.
Re-using rather than buying new, furnishing your house with second hand goods, buying gifts from second hand sources.
Lifestyle and design
