Emmaus supporter in Paris Marathon challenge
On April 5th Emmaus supporter John will run 26.2 gruelling miles through the streets of Paris to raise money for his local Emmaus projects. “My aim is to get around in less than 24 hours without resorting to public transport or ambulance!” he said. “I was persuaded to run in the Marathon by an old school friend who convinced me that it wasn’t too late to take up a major challenge.”
John, a solicitor with Emsleys, Leeds specialising in Housing Law, is going to raise money both for his local Emmaus Community in Leeds and for the Bradford Group, because “the organisations struck a chord with me and I wanted to support them in their work with formerly homeless men and women.”

To date John has raised £1,600 and commented, ‘given that people's reaction to my undertaking was bordering on incredulity - I figured that there had to be an opportunity to make money out of their disbelief!’.
