Welcome To Emmaus Leeds

About Emmaus Leeds

Like all Emmaus Communities, Emmaus Leeds is a charitable business which helps homeless people (Companions) to help themselves by providing a home and work in a supportive environment. Companions live ‘above the shop’ which supports the running costs of the Community and provides an opportunity for Companions to develop skills and self-respect through working and contributing. Our Community was eight years old on 3rd November 2011 and what an eventful eight it has been!

From our central Leeds location, we run a quality second-hand furniture store. We also have a café, hire out meeting/leisure room along with supervised car parking which is available for public use. Since October 2007 we have also had an Emmaus Leeds furniture stall situated in Leeds market near the corn exchange. The business is vital to our Community as this is how we generate the income which will enable us to become financially self-sustaining, supporting the costs of the Community whilst providing opportunities to help Companions.

If you are interested in making a donation (either financial or physical items) or becoming a volunteer, then please feel free to contact us through the contact details provided. If you would like someone from Emmaus Leeds to pay a visit to your institute, association or business then we would be happy to arrange it.

We ask for nothing in return, just the opportunity to spread the word about our project.
