The London Marathon is just days away

This Sunday, five intrepid runners will be sweating through the London Marathon in aid of Emmaus. They will be tapering their training and perhaps even loading up on carbs and rubbing Vaseline on themselves to avoid chafing, but it's not too late to sponsor them: can you help them on your way?

First up is Lawrence Buckley, Community Leader at Emmaus Sheffield. He says: "My training is going well, but I'm dogged by niggling injuries, coughs, colds and shin splints".

Then there’s Brian Day, Chair of Emmaus Norwich, who’s running for Emmaus Norwich. He says: "We really need £50,000 to open the doors, but £2,000 would be a big help".

There’s also musician and psychotherapist James Taylor, who is running for Emmaus Greenwich. He says: "Emmaus is an independent and autonomous movement with very little in the way of government aid. Fundraising is therefore critical to sustain the ongoing success of this venture".

From outside Emmaus UK comes Keaton Lee, and Daniel Jeffries. Keaton, who works for Towergate Insurance, says: "Let's all help a charity that helps people to help themselves. It really is different to any other charity out there. Daniel, who works for buyingTeam, says: "This is a great charity that works hard for those who find themselves homeless".

They will all be sporting green Emmaus vests on the day - see if you can spot them.
