The Gold Challenge is a unique new challenge event which gives you the chance to get fit, have fun and be part of the excitement in the run up to the 2012 London Olympics! Anyone over the age of 7 can take part, whatever your sporting ability, from novice to pro! You can enter individually or as part of a team, and have until the end of Olympic Year 2012 to complete your chosen challenges.
There are three ways to take part in the Gold Challenge:

1) The 2012KM challenge
The first step is to choose your challenge:
20.12km
201.2km or, for the adventurous,
2012km
Then you and your team go the distance in one or more of the following sports:
Running, Walking, Cycling, Swimming,Canoeing/Kayaking, Horse riding, Rowing, Sailing, Windsurfing, Wheelchair.
2) Gold Challenge in a Day!
This is a great chance to really push yourself! You and your team must complete the following distances back-to-back:

All disciplines can be done outdoors or in a gym and if you are in a team you can complete the challenge as a relay.
3) The Olympic Challenge
The Olympic Challenge gives you the chance to take on 5, 10, 20 or 30 different Olympic or Paralympic Sports and raise money for Emmaus. Why not try out a host of new sports, from archery to equestrianism to wrestling?!
The Gold Challenge has been working with National Governing Bodies so when you register you will be linked up with sports clubs in your local area where you can complete your challenges. For beginners, this usually involves taking part in at a minimum of 3 hours of coached activities. For the more experienced, there is the chance to pick up bonus points through taking part in competitions.
Youth and Family Gold Challenge
Young people aged 7-15 can now take part in the Gold Challenge too! As well as the 2012KM and the Olympic Challenge, there's a special Family Activity Challenge on offer.
