The Duchess of Cornwall snaps up a Christmas bargain at Emmaus Gloucestershire
The Duchess of Cornwall, Emmaus' Royal Patron, braved the chill a couple of days before Christmas to visit Emmaus Gloucestershire.
After being greeted by Emmaus President Terry Waite, she chatted with staff, volunteers and Companions at Emmaus Gloucestershire's shop in Nailsworth. The Duchess then browsed in the shop and chose a wooden toy truck for £3 for her grand daughters. "Everyone loves a bargain," she told volunteers in the shop.

The Duchess was keen to hear from the Companions about how the experience of living in the Community at Gloucester had changed life for them. "She was very nice," said one Companion "and made us feel at ease."
Before she left, the Duchess gave a Duchy Originals Christmas cake from the Prince of Wales' organic food company to the Community.
Emmaus Gloucestershire has shops in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Nailsworth. Formerly homeless men and women (Companions) collect, refurbish and sell donated furniture and household goods.
