Support Emmaus' Gold Challenge Bike Ride!

On Sunday 27th May, Emmaus Communities around the UK and the Federation Office will be taking part in the Emmaus Gold Challenge Bike Ride.

The Gold Challenge Bike Ride is a sponsored event, for teams, and forms part of the "2012 challenge" where participants are encouraged to cover their chosen distance using an Olympic sport. There are three levels of distance: 2012km, 201.2km and 20.12km.

An intrepid team of nine Companions from Emmaus Cambridge will be cycling 25 miles around the Cambridgeshire countryside, in order to support Emmaus Leicestershire.

Furthest north is the team from Emmaus Glasgow who are gearing up and ready to go.

Emmaus Bristol have also created a team; and Emmaus Village Carlton's bike ride ties in with their weekend of celebration, their 10th anniversary.

A 6-strong Federation Office team will be taking a scenic river route, covering 20.12km each.

A letter of support from our Royal Patron, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, will be read out before each ride.

The Gold Challenge is a charity challenge which encourages people to raise money for charity by taking part in Olympic and Paralympic sports.

The Gold Challenge works with the British Olympic Association, Sport England, Sport Scotland, Sport Wales, Paralympics GB and the national governing bodies of the Olympic and Paralympic sports.
