Emmaus Burnley Awarded £250,000

Emmaus Burnley were delighted to be awarded a capital funding grant of £250,000 from The Henry Smith Charity just before Christmas. The Henry Smith Charity focuses on giving support to projects which address social inequality and economic disadvantage, and the award came about partly thanks to the help and input of Emmaus UK.

The money will go towards the refurbishment of Emmaus House (formerly known as Booth Court), which will be the residential site for Emmaus Burnley's Companions; the building is on target to be ready to accommodate Companions by mid-2010.
