Postcard from Shekinah
GREETINGS from 14 Emmaus Burnley 'fanatics' on AwayDay at serene and beautiful Shekinah. Warm and friendly folk. Fabulous hospitality. Home cooking. Best wishes, CLARETS.
Shekinah proved an ideal setting for Emmaus Burnley's AwayDay, facilitated by David Chenery, Emmaus UK's Development Team Manager and Sasha Williams, Regional Development Officer for North East & North West.
On the crest of our £1 MILLION Government Grant, - as well as having some fun getting to know one another better, - we reviewed the work of Emmaus Burnley to confirm the vision and ensure we are using Members skills to the best advantage. Reflecting on success, we also wanted to check that their time donated to the group is spent in the most efficient way possible.
Excited conversations over lunch led smoothly into Action Planning in the afternoon, when more Members agreed to become Trustees and to take team leadership in an improved sub-group formation.
PHEW! What a good day! WAG-GONS RO-OLL.......
