Crafty Community Shop opens at Emmaus Brighton and Hove

Emmaus Brighton & Hove’s longest serving volunteer, Maureen Heard, will cut the ribbon to open the Goodwill Co-op Shop at
2 pm on Saturday 18th October.

Local volunteers have pooled their skills to create beautiful gifts from recycled and re-used materials. Patchwork quilts, cushions, peg bags, knitted gloves, hats, tea cosies, wooden garden planters, tapestry, pottery and painted furniture all feature in the shop. Proceeds will raise money to support Emmaus Brighton & Hove.

Joel Lewis, Business Manager at Emmaus Brighton & Hove says; “It’s amazing what people have managed to make from the bits and pieces that would otherwise have been thrown away. This initiative will not only help to support us here at the Community but will provide a focus for local people who are keen to develop their creative side and do something worthwhile at the same time.”

So why not call in at Emmaus Brighton and Hove for a spot of early Christmas shopping!

The Community and Shop, including the Goodwill Co-op Shop, are at Drove Road, Portslade, Brighton BN41 2PA.
