The London Marathon
Thank you to the Emmaus Marathon Runners
An enormous thank you to Alex, Alex, Kate and Tom who ran for Emmaus in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon. They put a fantastic effort into training and fundraising, and together have raised over £61,000. The money they have raised will go straight to support the work of Emmaus in helping people who were once homeless to rebuild their lives.
Could you run for Emmaus in 2011?
Race date: Sunday 17th April 2011.
Distance: 26.2 miles.
Fundraising: for our Charity places the minimum sponsorship is £2,000.

Emmaus has five guaranteed Golden Bond places for the Virgin London Marathon 2011 and we would love to hear from you if you would be interested in joining our team! We are a small charity so every pound you raise will make an impact in supporting the work of Emmaus in offering homeless people a home, work and the chance to rebuild their self-respect in a supportive environment.
Our Golden Bond places are open to anyone who pledges to raise at least £2,000 in sponsorship. In return, you’ll have a guaranteed place on the starting line and you will be supported in your Marathon preparations every step of the way.
Katie will be your Emmaus Marathon contact and you’ll be offered:
• A fundraising pack and Marathon Magazines
• Regular fundraising advice and support
• A Training Day with hints and tips on training from experts
• A chance to take part in the Adidas Half-Marathon at Silverstone and meet the other Emmaus runners
• A fabulous Emmaus running vest
• The opportunity to visit an Emmaus Community and meet some of the people whose lives you’ll be helping to transform.
We would also love to hear from you if you are planning to enter the online public ballot, which opens on Tuesday 4th May, and are interested in running for Emmaus. If you are lucky enough to win a place then there is no minimum sponsorship required and we’ll be very pleased to support you in your fundraising and training efforts.
